We give far too many people the power to take experiences away from us. The ones that make eye contact with us in the train. The ones that walk past us in the grocery store. The ones that workout next to us in the gym. The ones that sit by us at the pool. The ones that watch “us” with “our” kids. The ones that sit in-front of us in the office. The ones that show up in our social feeds. Like who do we think we are? Avengers or something? We literally think we can read other people’s minds. And then we go so far as to let it dictate our next move. The one where we quickly cover up at the pool. The one where we walk with our heads down. The one where we stand anxiously in the corner. The one where we decide we aren’t good enough. The one where we question our purpose. The one where we regret an invitation. The one where we say “no” to an opportunity. Because we THINK they THINK we aren’t something (good/skinny/smart/talented/human/etc.) enough. Or that we’re too much of something else (fat/loud/weak/ugly/etc.) Whatever it is that you think they think, it doesn’t matter anymore. NOW & TODAY we are the type of women who don’t ask permission to exist. The ones who walk boldly into a room. The ones who wear bikinis/shorts/rompers because we want to. The ones who speak confidently about ourselves & others. The ones who say “Yes” because we know we can. The ones who build empires. The ones who don’t look to others for approval. Because we already have our own. Ya, I’m going to be that girl this year. I’ve let them steal my experiences- my life - my ONE life for far too long. But no more. Because you only live once right. Who’s with me? 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
