"Stop Eating so much Sugar"

A boy came up to me in class today and asked if I followed any sort of a diet.
He then proceeded to ask about if I go to the gym or work out at all.
He THEN, decided to “give me a couple tips” to essentially lose weight “like [he] did”.
To make matters worse, he read me the nutrition labels off of my snacks (a protein bar & some nuts) and “showed me” that I was eating too much sugar.
“You need to stop eating these. I watch you eat one every day.”
The frick.
Throughout the conversation I went from utterly embarrassed/nervous to hurt/annoyed. I could go on and on about how wrong he was. I could probably write a novel (one that LK has already read via our text conversations this morning). I could certainly break it down into various chapters including (but not excluded to): “The Frick You Just Say?” and “I’m Just Gonna Leave This Here: A Look into Why Men are So Dumb.” It could certainly be a fun one to write, BUT imma just go ahead & keep this simple: Unsolicited body/weight-loss/diet advice is NOT OKAY. Not from/for boys. Not from/for women. From/for Coworkers, friends, family, etc. I don’t give a duck about what he thinks my body should look like. I certainly don’t care what he thinks about how I spend my time. He doesn’t know my story. He doesn’t know my life. And he certainly doesn’t know I’m up here on my Instagram today straight fumin’. I let him get away with it. I didn’t say anything. I literally started spewing news headlines about Kevin Durant & Kyrie going to the Nets in order to shift the conversation. Because I was too afraid to stick up for myself. (This is one of those situations I’ve thought about 57 perfect things I should have said after the fact.) But tomorrow, ya best believe imma be munchin’ on that same protein bar he thinks I “shouldn’t eat.” Ya girl freakin’ loves those things. 😘 Guess that’s why they say revenge tastes so sweet...😋💗
