One day you said I had a pretty face for a big girl One day you told me if I stopped eating so much maybe then (and only then) a boy would like me One day you told me I couldn’t wear shorts because of the dimples in my skin One day you told me I would never be a runner because of my weight

One day you told me I’d never make friends because I was too awkward One day you told me I couldn’t go to the pool because no one wanted to see my body One you told me I wasn’t good enough to join your club One day you told me I was conceited and stand offish (when really all I was was shy) One day you told me I could never wear a bikini unless I lost weight One day you told me I deserved every bad thing ever said about me One day you told me diet pills were my only answer One day you told me I’d never do anything with my life One day you told me I would never be enough But then one day I stopped letting you hold my mirror And I gave it back to my Maker (Highly recommend @elevationchurch’s latest Podcast “My Mirror is my Maker” from this past Sunday. Incredible message about who we let define us - others or the One who Made Us)
