Life in Moderation

Sometimes it’s really easy for me to sit and worry about everything I’ve eaten after a big meal or in this case, a long vacation. The past few weeks have been filled with the endless pasta, one two many Bahama Mamas, Italian pizza, hometown Chinese, Andy’s frozen custard...
the list goes on.

Basically: Countless delicious “guilty” pleasures & more calories than I’d care to count. But in my moments of insecurity or worry I am often reminded how blessed I am to make choices about my food - to indulge when I want to & eat in excess when my plate is filled with foods that are just too yummy... how thankful am I to have fresh fruits & veggies at my command & nutrition that comes daily any way I choose. Choosing your food is a blessing we far too often take for granted - in both times of excess & times of moderation. I’m excited to get back to my routine of moving daily & eating things that make me feel the best, but I am so grateful to be able to appreciate the ways food is made up of far more than carbs or calories. The last couple weeks have been filled with laughs at the dinner table surrounded by those I love most, a glass (or two) of wine with LK cheering to a perfect evening spent together or mid-day gelato breaks with my sisters as we detail the ins and outs of our dreams. Food is a gift & so too are the memories that come with it. Today I’m choosing to be thankful for the tasty indulgences this life has to offer — those a nutrition label can’t categorise or define.
