The weekend is fast approaching. Clear you schedule, babe. We've got work to do.
This weekends task: Accepting our bodies. Loving ourselves (as is - today - right now) and getting back to the foundation of what makes you --> YOU.
Here are a few pain-free ways to jumpstart your journey to self-love and body acceptance.
And yes, it includes Netflix.
Instagram Cleanse - Anyone in the mood for a cleanse? No not the Skinny Tea B.S. stuff. The REAL stuff. This year take back what you feed your mind and spirit by starting with a social media refresh. Those people who make you feel like crap? See ya. Those bodies that do nothing but fuel a hate for yours? Goodbye. Those "friends" who only bring about ugly thoughts? Block Block, Bishhh.
Motivation Mood Board - One of my favorite modes of motivation is making a mood board. Manifest the heck out of your intentions by cutting out self-love inspiration & quotes from sources like Pinterest by searching things such as: self love, body positivity, etc. And while you're there - find yourself a new encouraging laptop wallpaper, phone screen, or refrigerator reminder as well.
Need an Uplifting Netflix binge? Girl treat yourself to Dumplin'. Dolly Parton approved. Girl power & body positivity queens all around. Yes please.
Attend a Group Fitness Class - Believe it or not, getting out there and sweating with a group of like-minded gals can make you come ALIVEEE. My personal local favorite? Ignition at The Studio by Jamie Kinkeade. It is an absolute heart poundin' sweat fest, but wow wow wow does the positivity radiate through the words & encouragement of a room full of bad-a women. Find her online classes here.
Write Yourself a Love Note - V-Day is closely approaching and you have a sweet, sweet Valentine whether you know it or not. Take the lead of Charli Howard this weekend and spend some time, maybe cozied up with something toasty, devoted to getting back to the basics. "Because you might not be perfect, Body, but you're the only one I've got." -CH <3

Got a Scale? - THROW IT away. Like really, what are you waiting for? Really. If you have a negative relationship with your scale, and if you're anything like me -- you do, get rid of it. Let's find a new way of measuring your worth this weekend that doesn't revolve around our relationship with gravity.
Unplug - Social media? Log out. Internet? Turn it off. Yes, you read that correct. Turn the dang thing off. Sometimes one of the healthiest decisions we can make for ourselves is to disconnect from all outside noise & really tune into our own. Take the day, the weekend or more plugging into your own voice and needs and unplugging from the rest.
Treat 'Yo Self - Self Care is essential in the practice of Self Love. Taking care of our minds, bodies & spirits can seem like an exhausting job. But it doesn't have to be. Often times our weekends are spent running, running, running and going, going, going, harder, faster longer than we even do during the week. Take a BREATH friend. Maybe the best thing for you this weekend is a hot date with your bathtub & a glass of wine. If negative self talk creeps in, combat your own negativity by reciting truths over your body. Yes, it feels ridiculous but it feels STRONG. This roll? beautiful. These scars? A testament of strength. This cellulite? A Sign of Growth. This glass of wine? Gone.

The dictionary defines self love as "regard for one's own well-being and happiness." We've gone too long neglecting our bodies of the respect and appreciation they've deserved. We've lived in battle with our own selves for years and years. Think about that. At war with our own vessels. Our only vessel.
Don't waste another minute pretending you're okay with the way you talk to yourself in the mirror.
This weekend, we fight.
A fight that includes a bubble bath, Netflix & wine. Maybe lots of wine.
Charge on, Weekend Warrior!
